The mission of the Eagle Nation Network program is to provide learners with real-world experience in the field of television production and broadcast journalism and to prepare students for higher education and jobs that are in high demand.
Launched in 2013, Eagle Nation Network is the premier media outlet for Prosper High School and surrounding community, broadcasting online to Prosper High School and viewers from around the world.
The news program is a live daily 10 minute, student-produced news program featuring high school student activities and accomplishments along with a teen perspective on world/national/local news. Eagle Nation News airs live on the web through YouTube and eaglenation.net/live.
Students receive hands-on experience with the latest digital television equipment as well as showcase their talents, which include reporting, interviewing, commentary, videography, writing, and editing.
Over the past 5 seasons, Eagle Nation Network has been recognized for excellence at both at the state and national level. The program has garnered close to 30 state championships in its first four season, been nominated for 4 Lone Star Emmys, ranked among the top ten Best of Show nationally from the Nationals Scholastic Press Association, is a national Pacemaker finalist, created award-winning documentaries and has received multiple Gold Stars from the Interscholastic League Press Conference. In addition to news awards, the program was also the first high school in the country to successfully launch a comedy-style talk show that was lauded by CBS producers and Stephen Colbert.
This year's Eagle Nation Network programming is set to be it's best yet, with an all new cast, all new programming, and all new innovations.
